Julia VanTrees Cowitt is a multidisciplinary artist: a writer, puppeteer and designer, performer, and theatre educator. Drawing from her studies in Anthropology, Julia is interested in interview-based theatre, combining real stories with fantastical theatrical elements (like puppets!). She earned her BA in Anthropology at SUNY Purchase and her MFA in Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College. In her free time, she loves to read and crochet. Originally from Los Angeles, Julia currently resides in New York. She wears her heart on her sleeve and her socks inside out.
